Overview
Nuclei provides Google Workspace customers with the ability to automatically export and archive all documents and collaboration workflows occurring within Google Drive, including:
- Files
- File Comments
- File Activities
As a first step, you must authorize the Nuclei archiving app. Afterwards, Nuclei will automatically export Google Drive content for review, retention, or export into your existing compliance archive.

Scope
Files
All Google Drive files in the organization are supported for archiving. The following types of metadata are supported for each file:
- Created By
- File ID
- File Name
- File Description
- File Parent
- File Version
- File Mime Type
- File Labels (if any)
- File Sharing Settings
The following additional metadata types are also supported for each file creator:
- User ID
- User Email
- User Name
- User Role
File Comments
The following types of metadata are supported for each file comment:
- Comment ID
- Comment Message
- Created At
- Updated At
The following additional metadata types are also supported for each commenter:
- User ID
- User Email
- User Name
- User Role
File Activities
The following activities are tracked and archived:
- File Viewed
- File Downloaded
- File Shared
- File Moved
- File Deleted
- File Restored
Selective Capture
By default capture will take place for all activity occurring within Google Drive. It is also possible to configure selective capture for any of the following scenarios:
- Owner of the file is a member of particular group (requires separate IDP integration)
- Creator of the file is a member of particular group (requires separate IDP integration)
- Files that are in predefined folders
- Files with external collaborators or shared linked

Setup Guide
Authorization
To enable archiving your Google Workspace Admin must authorize the Nuclei Capture archiving app.
Nuclei will provide you with the app authorization URL during onboarding and provisioning.
Deprovisioning
- Go to the Google Admin Console.
- Navigate to “Apps” > “Google Workspace” > “Drive and Docs.”
- Find the Nuclei archiving app under authorized apps and select “Remove app.”
