Compliance Archiving for Box

Overview

Nuclei provides Box customers with the ability to automatically export and archive all documents and collaboration workflows occurring within Box, including:  

  • Files
  • File Comments
  • File Tasks
  • Signature Requests (Signed)

As a first step, you must authorize the Nuclei archiving app. Afterwards, Nuclei will automatically export Box content into your existing compliance archive. 

 

Prerequisites

  • Box Account Admin (Co-Admin *not* supported)
  • Box App

 

Scope

Files

All Box files in the organization are supported for archiving. The following types of metadata are supported for each file:

  • Created By
  • File Classification
  • File Description
  • File ID
  • File Metadata
  • File Name
  • File Parent
  • File Version

The following additional types of metadata are also supported for each file creator:

  • User ID
  • User Login
  • User Name
  • User Type

File Comments

The following types of metadata are supported for each file comment:

  • Comment ID
  • Comment Message
  • Created At

The following additional types of metadata are also supported for each commenter:

  • User ID
  • User Login
  • User Name
  • User Type

File Tasks

The following types of metadata are supported for each file task:

  • Task Action
  • Task Assignment
  • Task Assignment Message
  • Task Item
  • Task Message

The following additional types of metadata are also supported for each task creator and task assignee:

  • User ID
  • User Login
  • User Name
  • User Type

Signature Requests

The following types of metadata are supported for each signature request:

  • Email Message
  • Email Subject
  • Files
  • Name
  • Parent Folder
  • Sign

The following additional types of metadata are also supported for each signer:

  • Email
  • Role

Selective Capture 

By default capture will take place for all activity occurring within Box. It is also possible to configure selective capture for any of the following scenarios: 

  • Owner of the file is a member of particular group (requires separate IDP integration) 
  • Creator of the file is a member of particular group (requires separate IDP integration) 
  • Files that are in a predefined list of ignored folders
  • Files that have a shared linked enabling external collaboration 
  • Files that were created by external, anonymous users.

  • Veritas Enterprise Vault
  • ZL Unified Archive

 

Setup Guide

Prerequisites

Authorization

To enable archiving your Box Account admin must authorize the Nuclei Capture archiving app. Please note that the Co-Admin role is *not* supported.

Nuclei will provide you with the app authorization URL during onboarding and provisioning.

 

Deprovisioning

  1. Login to https://app.box.com 
  2. Select "Admin Console"
  3. Select "Apps"
  4. Select "Custom Apps Manager"
  5. Hover over the archiving app, and select the "..." button to access more options. 
  6. Select "Delete app".
