Overview
Nuclei provides Webex customers with the ability to automatically export and archive all communications occurring within Webex, including:
- Business Texts
- Meeting Messages
- Messages
- Meeting Audio
- Meeting Video
As a first step, the "Nuclei Capture" archiving app must be authorized for your Webex site. Once complete, Nuclei will automatically import your organizations content and related activity. Content can be retained with Nuclei, or exported for review and retention in your existing compliance archive.
Prerequisites
- Webex Administrator with the "Compliance Officer" role assigned
- Webex App Hub (enabled)
- Webex Suite (licensing for monitored users)
Scope
Messages
Business text, meeting, and team messages are supported for archiving. The following types of metadata are supported for each message:
- Thread ID
- Message ID
- Date
- Content
- Sender
- Recipients
- File Attachments
The following additional types of metadata are also supported for each message participant:
- User ID
- Display Name
- Phone Number
Recordings
Cisco Network-Based Recording (NBR) records the full attendee-view of a WebEx Meeting, including:
- Meeting Video (presenter video)
- Meeting Audio (VoIP, telephony, and third-party audio)
When recording multi-point video, only the presenter's video is recorded and available for replay and archiving. The following types of metadata are also supported for each meeting:
- Meeting ID
- Recording ID
- Date
- Host
- Participants
- Meeting Topic
The following additional types of metadata are also supported for each message participant:
- User ID
- Display Name
Meeting recordings must be enabled by an administrator to ensure there is something to capture. Steps on how to complete this are located here:
Getting Setup
Webex
Please ensure that the Webex Administrator authorizing the archiving app has the "Compliance Officer" role assigned prior to authorizing the integration.
The "Full Administrator" role is not sufficient to permission access to compliance related scopes.
Nuclei
- Login to https://app.nuclei.ai
- Select "Configuration" > "Sources"
- Select "New"
- Select "Source Type", then select "Webex Suite"
- Add a "Description" to the feed
- Customize any configuration settings desired.
- Select "Create Source"
- Select "Create Authorization", and complete the OAuth approval workflow.
Uninstallation
To disable archiving:
- Disable "Capture Enabled" in the Nuclei source configuration.
You can also remove application permissions directly by browsing to Webex App Hub > My Integrations:
- Browse to "Nuclei Capture", and then select "Disconnect".
Configuration
Selective Archiving (Identity Based)
Selective capture can also be implemented for organizations using the following platforms for enterprise identity management:
- Google Workspace
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Okta
A separate app authorization is required on your identity management platform:
- Apps - Identity Management - Google Workspace
- Apps - Identity Management - Microsoft Entra ID
- Apps - Identity Management - Okta
Afterwards Nuclei can facilitate selective capture or selective archiving based on a user's group membership status within the identity provider.
