Overview
Nuclei provides Google Workspace customers with the ability to automatically export, enrich, and archive all communications taking place within Google Workspace, including:
- Call Recordings
- Text Messages
- Voice Messages
- All other communication types supported by the Google Vault API
As a first step, the "Nuclei for Google Workspace" archiving app must be authorized for by your Google Workspace administrator. Once complete, Nuclei will automatically import Google Workspace content and related activity. Content can be retained with Nuclei, or exported for review and retention in your existing compliance archive.

Scope
Call Recordings
The following types of metadata are supported for each call recording:
- From (Caller)
- To (Callee)
- Date
- Message ID
Text Messages
The following types of metadata are supported for each text message:
- From (Sender)
- To (Recipients)
- Date
- Message ID
- Message Text
Voice Messages
The following types of metadata are supported for each text message:
- From (Caller)
- To (Callee)
- Date
- Message ID
- Voicemail Transcript
Getting Setup
Google Voice
To enable capture of Google Voice activity from Google Workspace you must first activate automatic call recording:
- Login to https://admin.google.com
- From the Menu select "Apps", "Google Workspace", "Google Voice"
- Select "Settings"
- Select "Policies", then select "Automatic Call Recording"
- Select "Edit", and then configure the options for automatic call recording:
- Off
- Only inbound calls
- Only outbound calls
- All calls
- Select "Save"
Exempt Trusted App
Once the app is authorized, you will need to follow the instructions from Google to make the app trusted. Otherwise, the app will need to be reauthorized on a regular basis.
Nuclei
You've completed all configurations in Google Workspace you must create a new feed:
- Login to https://app.nuclei.ai
- Select "Configuration" > "Sources"
- Select "New"
- Select "Source Type", then select "Google Vault"
- Add a "Description" to the feed
- Select "Save"
Next, you will need to authorize the new feed:
- Select "Create Authorization"
- Complete the OAuth 2.0 authorization process
Uninstallation
Nuclei
To pause or disable capture:
- Login to https://app.nuclei.ai
- Select "Configuration" > "Sources"
- Select the desired "Google Vault" feed
- De-select "Capture Enabled"
